SPIRIT OF WAVELAND
BEAUTIFICATION COMMITTEE

The “Spirit of Waveland” Beautification Committee was formed for the purpose of recognizing homeowners, businesses and neighborhoods for their courage, investment, time and effort they have displayed to others within the community. One homeowner from the city of Waveland will be awarded each month. Quarterly, a business will be awarded and then, at the Annual Awards Gala, a neighbor- hood will be named “Neighborhood of the Year”. In the spring, all the recipients will receive an invitation to the Annual Awards Gala where the “Homeowner, Business and Neighborhood of the Year” will be named.

KEEP WAVELAND BEAUTIFUL

Recently, Waveland became an affiliate of the national Keep America Beautiful organization and it's 4,000 active members around the country. Since 1953, Keep America Beautiful has provided a replicable framework for community education and hands-on stewardship that reduces litter and waste, promotes grassroots volunteerism, and makes sustainable improvement possible for communities of all sizes, from coast to coast. But this is only one side of the equation. At the local level, affiliates have built upon this framework to create innovative, locally focused programs that address the specific needs of their diverse geographies and populations. Using the fundamental of KAB's time-tested approach, affiliates are reaching into their communities to effect meaningful, positive changes.
