As President of the WCC, Charlie is involved in many community activities and organizations. He serves as Board President for the Hancock County Tourism & Development Bureau and is Board Chairman of the city’s Keep Waveland Beautiful Committee. He also serves as Chairman of the Coleman District Development Group and the WaveFest and OysterFest events. Organizational memberships include the Hancock County Chamber of Commerce and the Hancock County Alliance For Good Government.

Last year Charlie was selected Tourism’s “Person of the Year” and was a recipient of Hancock County’s “Top Ten Citizens of the Year.” The Chamber of Commerce awarded him the “Spirit Award for Community Service” while a member of their board.

Charlie, and his wife Nancy, have been married for thirty-seven years and have three grown children and one granddaughter. They are parishioners of St. Clare Catholic Church and have been permanent residents of Waveland for six years. Originally from New Orleans, both Charlie’s and Nancy’s families had second homes in Waveland where many summers and long weekends were spent since the early 60’s. When not busy with some community activity, Charlie enjoys the many amenities the Bay-Waveland area has to offer residents and vistors.
